Contingency vs. Retained Recruiting for Hospitality
How the two main recruiting models work, what each costs, and which one fits the role you're hiring for.

For employers
Hire Proven Hospitality Managers Without the Guesswork
Direct-hire recruiting for resorts, boutique hotels, full-service restaurants and private clubs. We find employed managers who aren't looking, and we find out why they'd move.
The process
We learn the role, the team, the property and why the seat is open.
We write the profile with you and check your pay against what the market is paying.
We go directly to employed managers at comparable properties — not job-board applicants.
You get a short list of screened candidates, typically within 2–3 weeks.
We help close the offer, manage the resignation and check in through the first six months.
Fees
Contingency fee of 18% of first-year base salary. One rate for every role and venue. No upfront cost, no retainer. Portfolio pricing for multi-property and multi-unit groups. See how our fee compares.
If a placement leaves or doesn't work out in the first six months (180 days), we recruit a replacement at no additional fee.
One price and one set of terms for every role and every venue, including confidential replacement searches. Minimum fee: $9,000, which applies only to roles with a base salary under $50,000. Hiring three or more managers in a year? Ask about portfolio pricing.
If your new manager resigns or is let go within six months (180 days) of their start date, we run one replacement search at no additional fee.
This summarizes our standard terms. The signed client agreement governs.
Hotel management companies and restaurant groups with several locations hire the same roles again and again. We learn your standards once, keep a bench of vetted managers warm, and fill openings across your portfolio on one agreement with volume pricing.
